Volunteers came during February and March to work and paint creating a beautiful new look in our sanctuary. Together, these workers donated hundreds of hours for this giant of a project. The velvet curtain that had been behind the altar for close to 75 years came down. The final touch when the painting was finished was to erect the Christian symbol of a very large wooden cross behind the altar. Terri Tye was the artist that created the cross. The cross has lighting mounted on its backside. The final picture in this post shows the magnificent beauty of the crosses’ lighting when the church is darkened. Many more pictures of this project can be viewed on the Big Brown Church Facebook Page.
